This design is inspired by the Leatherback Sea Turtle which is the largest turtle on Earth. They can grow up to nine feet (2.7 meters) long and 2,000 pounds (900 kilograms).
The long front flippers are not an artistic exaggeration. On Leatherback Sea Turtles, they are proportionally longer than in other sea turtles.
The large flippers are characteristics that make the leatherback uniquely equipped for long distance migrations.
